Save the Date Wording Ideas

No matter what kind of wording you choose for your save the date cards, there are a few things that you need to be sure to include.  Every wedding save the date should include the couple's names, the date of the wedding, and the location of the wedding.  Skipping any of these three items would leave your guests confused or unable to accurately plan for your wedding day.

You should also try to include a phrase that lets guests know that a formal invitation will be coming later.  Some common wording for this are simply saying "formal invitations to follow" or "more details to follow."  Save the date cards are still a fairly new

concept and some people (especially older guests) may not know what they are.  You can also include the website address of your wedding website if you have made one.  This is a great way to let guests know more details, learn more about your story, and even find out at what stores you are registered.

Since save the date cards are more casual than your formal wedding invitations, you have a wide variety of wording ideas to choose from.  Your words can be cute, funny, formal, or creative.  You could use formal wording or do something fun.  Your wording is really up to you.  Just make sure that you keep it classy and that it is true to your personality as a couple.

Below are some save the date wording ideas along with some examples.  To see more examples of wording ideas for your save the date's, visit the page dedicated to each category.
